Experienced Bookkeeper

Job Description

Compere CPA Group, Inc. is seeking an experienced bookkeeper with a minimum of three years of full-service bookkeeping experience. The ideal candidate will be a certified bookkeeper who is meticulous, organized, and proficient in managing financial transactions for our clients. Likewise, the candidate should also be able to identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy in tax preparation and filing. The position offers competitive pay, commensurate with the level of experience and education.

Responsibilities

  • Financial Record Maintenance: Accurately record and maintain financial transactions, including posting debits and credits, reconciling accounts, and producing financial reports.
  • Account Reconciliation: Perform monthly and quarterly reconciliations of bank accounts and other balance sheet accounts.
  • Payroll Processing: Manage payroll processing and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Accounts Payable and Receivable: Oversee accounts payable and receivable, ensuring timely payment and collection.
  • Tax Preparation: Assist in preparing tax returns and ensuring compliance with tax regulations.
  • Financial Analysis: Analyze financial information and summarize financial status for management, providing recommendations when necessary.
  • Audit Support: Assist with internal and external audits, providing necessary documentation and explanations.
  • Financial Reporting: Produce, review, and provide financial reports to clients on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis, including the profit and loss statement, balance sheet, cash flow statement, and any ad-hoc reports required.
Qualifications

  • Experience: At least three years of full-service bookkeeping experience.
  • Certification: Certified Bookkeeper designation preferred.
  • Education: Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred.
  • Software Proficiency: Proficiency in QuickBooks and TaxWise Online.
  • Attention to Detail: Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in financial data entry and reporting.
  • Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Team Player: Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
Bonus Experience

  • Experience working in a CPA firm or with multiple clients.
  • Knowledge of tax regulations and compliance.
  • Quick Books Online Certification a plus.
